Opinion:
The Tesla is really an amazing car but I still don't like that tax rebates are offered for a vehicle solely based on it being an EV and not also including the price of the car. In reality, a Tesla is a rich persons second or third car in the stable. The rebates for EVs should be on a sliding scale with those at the bottom earning the full amount while the luxury EVs receiving none. I ascribe to the 1/10th rule of car buying ( never spend more than 1/10th your gross income on a car) so it makes no difference what the new cars are like but it is still fun to marvel at them.
